Each month I’ll be doing a look back at what we’re loving, highlighting some events and definitely checking in on my goals. Here’s a look back at February.
Another month of birthdays, including Reya’s 6th! For her birthday weekend we headed to San Diego and visited Sea World and Legoland. Reya’s favorite part was, of course, the pool at the hotel. My friend, Ally, and her family joined us for Legoland and the kids had a great time. Her daughter, Miss Cups even went on her first roller coaster. (Note to self: book a suite next time so we’re not held hostage in silence while Lola sleeps)
As a bonus, while we were in San Diego, we met up with my college roommate and her family. I had never met her almost three-year-old daughter, who is such a sweetheart. The girls had a blast playing together and really bonded over Disney movies.
My February Stitch fix box was a winner with two classic pieces added to my wardrobe. Sign up for your own Stitch Fix box here.
Lola made her first Valentines craft with our South Bay Mamas meet-up group. Thanks Adrienne for putting that together! (Reya and I made Valentines too. You can see them here.)
Some emotional anniversaries last month. The third anniversary of my mom’s passing and commemorating what would have been her 60th birthday.
We found a new-to-us park in Palos Verdes with an amazing ocean view. The park is just down the street from the mall where Reya does ice skating lessons. We’ll definitely be playing here again soon.
Speaking of ice skating lessons, Reya passed into Beta level, after three sessions in Alphas. She is so excited to be moving up another level. She is fearless!
Over President’s Day weekend we held our 3rd annual memorial tea to honor my Mom at my Aunt Melinda’s home. I so enjoy the time spent with the women in my family, sharing memories of my mom, and just talking. Always just a lovely and peaceful day.
Adda, Reza’s grandmother, sadly passed away last month. Reza’s family held a beautiful memorial service for her. She was a beautiful soul and I will cherish her love for the girls and how kind she always was to me.
Lola is standing and making attempts at steps though still very wobbly.
We moved from the Frozen soundtrack on repeat to the Frozen movie on repeat the last week of the month when it came out on iTunes. I’m still loving it but I’m sure Reza is getting sick of it and so is this guy.
Update on my goals
I finished reading The Monuments Men on the Kindle the last day of the month. So I am still on track with my book a month goal. This one was a much slower read since it was nonfiction. I have seen the movie and will doing a blog post about it later this week.
I created 0/4 layouts last month. =( (not including Project Life) Definitely need to step up my game here or adjust this number.
We finally took down the old hanging blinds on the sliding glass door in the office and Reza hung new curtains from Ikea. I’m counting that as the home decor project for the month.
I finished up my October to December photo sorting, rating, and printing. I’m still struggling with adding tagging to my photo process, but I am happy that all my favorite photos from 2013 are now printed.
I finished February One Little Word and love the intention review cards Ali added this year.
On Project Life, I did not keep up with the “scrap-as-you-go” process the whole month but did get “caught up” last week. Look out for this post soon.
Thanks for taking a look back with me. Any highlights or updates from February you want to share? I’d love to hear about them so be sure to leave a comment.
